The 27-year-old veterinarian was killed on the night of November 27. She left her home in Shamshabad early in the afternoon to visit a dermatologist in Gachibowli. She parked her two-wheeled vehicle near Shamshabad Toll Place and took a shared taxi around 6:15 p.m.
On the way home, the woman realized that the rear wheel of her vehicle had been punctured. At approximately 9:15 pm, the four people offered to help her. They would have deflated the tire. The 4 people turned off the woman’s phone and raped her near the toll gate. After killing her, the four men placed her body under a bridge and set it on fire around 2.30 a.m.
The woman’s family alleged that the policemen delayed to take the first information report. Three officials were suspended on Saturday for not doing their work properly.
The incident caused widespread criticism of the situation of law and order in the state. Both houses of Parliament discussed women’s safety on Monday, and parliamentarians from all parties demanded strict action against these crimes.
The deputy of the Samajwadi Party, Jaya Bachchan, suggested on Monday in Rajya Sabha that the defendant should be lynched in public, while another deputy suggested castration.
On Wednesday, the Telangana High Court approved the creation of an expedited court to hear the case of the Mahabubnagar District Court. Earlier, Telangana’s C.M, K Chandrasekhar Rao, assured people that the trial would take place in an expedited court after mass demonstrations across the country to take strict measures against the accused.
