American TV Host Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards for ABC.
Set to be held on September 20, 2020, however, it is unclear whether the Emmys will be held live-in person or virtually amid Coronavirus.
“I don’t know where we will do the show or how will we do this or even why are we doing this, but we are doing this and I am hosting it,” said the talk show host Jimmy Kimmel who also serves as Executive Producer for the show.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the 53-year-old comedian and talk show host is the third time go to Emcee for Emmy Awards. It comes a day after Television Academy and Creative arts ceremonies will be going virtual acknowledging the limitations bought by the pandemic.
Speaking about Jimmy Kimmel, ABC Entertainment President said “We know Jimmy Kimmel will deliver a uniquely entertaining, funny and moving Primetime Emmys show,” he continued saying “He’s a true master of ceremonies who reveres this industry and its people; and just as Jimmy has done with his show over the past few months, he will tackle this momentous event with heart and humor, and bring some much-needed joy and optimism to our television colleagues and viewers at home.”
It is now unclear how the Emmy Awards will be hosted, however as per recent reports due to Coronavirus outbreak the 2021 Academy Awards has been moved forward to April 2021 which also airs on ABC.
