The empowerment of women allows them to make their own decisions freely and allows them to realize their true rights in society. Since ancient times, women were not treated equally with men. Gender discrimination exists even today. I would like to say in one sentence that it is a male-dominated society.
Women lacked education because they were forced to marry at a young age and were busy taking care of their family life. I call it “a trap for a frog at the well”, but today in the modern world women have realized herself through the education they have received and this is how the women’s empowerment revolution began.
Need for Women Empowerment
Women empowerment is very important for the bright future of the individual, family, society, and the country. To empower women, it is necessary to put an end for all evil thoughts that prevail in society, such as dowry harassment, inequality, child abuse, sexual abuse, prostitution, and most importantly the mindset of the people that women can’t do much.
Today we have to realize that women are in almost all fields, from agriculture to space everywhere you can find them. Thanks to the modern education system and the people who have worked to bring the women to the mainstream equal with men. Therefore, International Women’s Day is celebrated worldwide on March 8.
How to Empower Women?
As we have discussed, education plays an important role, therefore, education must be made compulsory, need to support self-help groups, should allow women to participate in all fields as men do, organize seminars and motivate them, etc. A lot can be done, but the first thing that must change is our mindset on how we see women in our society and how we treat them equally with men.
