With an increasing number of cases from Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh, collector of Chittoor Dr. N Bharat Gupta has reviewed the situation in Thirupathi and has directed Ruia Hospital superintendent, Dr. T. Bharathi, to make ready TTD Srinivasam as a COVID-care center.
The first COVID care center Sri Padmavati Nilayam currently has more patients. TTD has given nod for the collector’s request and has provided Vishnu Nivasam as a COVID-care center for patients and Madhavan for doctor quarantine only.
Superintendent Dr. T. Bharathi also asked the collector the requirement of RT-PCR test kits which the collector requested Director of Medical Education (DME) office and asked them to provide one soon. Also, the collector urged the use of masks and maintain social distancing when a person travels outside.
The collector also visited the Padmavati Nilayam and checked on how the patients are treated, the food and hygiene and he personally tasted the food as he believed good food is the way to provide immunity which helps in eliminating the disease.
