Karyanand Sharma was a prominent freedom fighter and a great revolutionary leader who led several movements against the zamindars and the British government of India.

Sharma was a person who actively participated in the non-cooperation movement under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian National Congress party.

He has been involved in various types of problems as a member of the revolutionary group.

History of Karyanand Sharma

He was born in the Sahoor village of the Lakhisarai district in Bihar (1901). The exact date of Sharma’s birth was unknown to everyone. He belongs to a poor Bhumihar Brahmin family.

He started his studies at an early age. Karyanand Sharma was able to leave school to support his family in agriculture.

Later, he continued his studies since 1914 and passed his entrance examination in 1920.

Revolutionary Activities of Sharma

After successfully completing his education, Sharma actively participated in the non-cooperation movement to fight against British rule in India.

Karyanand Sharma was a great source of inspiration for all the citizens of India, even today.

Most of the young freedom fighters and revolutionaries who joined the Indian National Congress were very inspired by their contribution to the nation.

It was under the direction of Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian National Congress. After Sharma’s participation in the Indian National Congress, he was arrested by Indian police and sentenced to one year in prison.

As soon as he was released from prison, Sharma showed greater involvement in several peasant affairs.

In 1927, he led a resistance of the tenants against the arbitrary extortion of the zamindars in Chanan.

The resistance of tenants was aimed, in particular, at fighting the state against Giddhaur Raj and Kaira. The Zamindar and its subordinates were mainly oppressive.

The head of the Indian National Congress supported Sharma despite the fact that party leaders did not provide direct assistance.

But there was a unity among the tenants that made the Zamindars submit to the demands of the peasants.

The Participation of Karyanand in the Kisan Movement

The struggle between the peasant and Zamindar has been successfully resolved. This movement has become an important motivator for the farmers of Monghyr in Bihar.

The stickers were passed against Pandit Karyanand Sharma after the popular Barahiya Bhakshat Andolan which was conducted in 1937-1939. Sharma was arrested by the government of India in 1938.

After leaving prison, he actively participated in the Kisan movement. As soon as he participated in the Kisan movement, he was arrested again.

In the end, Sharma became a follower of Marxist ideologies and a member of the Communist Party of India. He remained a member of the All India Congress Committee until 1943.

Death of Karyanand Sharma

After the nation’s independence from British rule in India, Sharma became one of the leading leaders of the Communist Party of India.

Under the leadership of Karyanand Sharma, the Communist Party of India was able to lead many important struggles like Champaran in the 1950s.

He was also a member of the legislative party until his death. He died in the year 1965.
