Google Assistant is a virtual assistant developed by Google. This virtual assistant can manage your tasks, find information, play music for you, etc. Though it is very helpful, sometimes it is annoying too for its popping up nature without any reason. This Google application doesn’t allow your phone to turn off the microphone and as a result, it drains out the battery. By default, it is turned on in your android phone until you turn it off.
It’s very simple to turn the Google Assistant on or off. Just you will need to follow a few steps mentioned below.
Step 1: At the very first turn on your mobile internet connection and find out the Google application from your phone then open it.
Step 2: After opening the application tap the three-dotted more option which is at the bottom right corner of your screen like shown in the attached image.
Step 3: Then select the ‘settings’ tab, which is the fifth option below your account details.
Step 4: After that, you need to tap the fourth option that is the ‘Google Assistant’.
Step 5: After that scroll down to find the ‘General’ tab and open it to proceed further.
Step 6: Now you will find that your Google Assistant is turned on. To turn it off tap on the blue slider which is on the right side of the Google Assistant.
Step 7: As soon as you tap the blue slider you will be shown a pop-up message asking you to turn off the Google Assistant. So, tap on ‘Turn Off’, and the process is done here.
Now, you will find that your Google Assistant is not active anymore. Pressing the home button for a long time or saying ‘Ok Google’ will not open the Google Assistant further.
To turn on your Google Assistant again you will need to follow the same steps.
